Boom
5. Slide the inner boom (1) into the intermediate boom (2)
until the rear of the gooseneck weldment (3) on the
inner boom contacts the front of the intermediate
boom. Remove the sling and hoist.
Note: If new hoses have been installed, or if excessive
twisting in the hoses is noted, the hoses will have to be
"indexed" (refer to Section 4.3.3, Attachment Tilt and
Fork Side Shift Hydraulics Hose Indexing Procedure).

6. At the front of the inner boom (7), pull the wires,
attached to the fork side shift hoses (9), until the
hoses are properly routed into the channel on the left
side of the inner boom.
7. Connect the fork side shift hoses (9) to the fittings on
the left side of the fork side shift valve (10).
8. Pull the wires, attached to the attachment tilt hoses
(4), until the hoses are properly routed into the
channel on the right side of the inner boom.
9. Install a lifting eye (5) to the hex nut (6) on the
attachment tilt cylinder. Attach suitable overhead
lifting device and sling to the lifting eye.
10. Remove the retaining ring (7) from the upper
attachment pin (8), and remove the pin.
11. Carefully lower the cylinder until you can access the
fittings on the lower part of the cylinder. Connect the
hoses (4) to the fittings on the cylinder. Once the
hoses are connected, carefully lift the cylinder, coat
the upper attachment cylinder mount pin (8) with
anti-seize compound and reinstall the pin and
retaining ring (7).

Note: ALWAYS replace elastic locknuts with new elastic
locknuts to help ensure proper fastening.
12. At the rear of the inner boom (9), attach the retract
chain (10) to the hole in the anchor using one .50 x
1.75 x 3/8-16 hex socket head shoulder bolt (11),
two 1/2" SAE narrow plain washers (12), and a new
MM3440
3/8-16 elastic locknut (13).

13. Use a suitable overhead lifting device and sling
attached to the extend/retract cylinder to carefully
raise and position the cylinder near the rear of the
inner boom.
Note: Install the extend/retract cylinder into the boom
with the hose connections (14) toward the top of the
boom.
14. Push the hoses aside and carefully insert the
extend/retract cylinder into the inner boom.
