b. Disassembly
DO NOT disassemble the motor or the wiper motor
switch. The motor and switch are not serviceable. Re-
place motor or switch if either are found to be defective.
c. Cleaning and Drying
Without submerging the motor or switch, clean with an
approved solvent and dry with a clean, lint-free cloth.
d. Inspection and Replacement
1. Inspect the motor terminals for continuity.
2. Replace motor if continuity is not found. (Refer to
Section 10.7.31, "Rear Wiper Circuit and
Troubleshooting.")
3. Inspect the switch terminals for continuity with the
switch in the OFF and ON positions. (Refer to
Section 10.7.31, "Rear Wiper Circuit and
Troubleshooting.")
4. Replace the switch if it fails any of the tests in Step 3.
e. Installation and Testing
Note: An assistant will be required for the installation of
the rear wiper motor.
1. Position the switch over the rectangular switch bezel,
and snap into position.
2. Install the adapter (30) to the "P" terminal (31) on the
motor (24).
3. Install jumper wire (26) to one of the blades on the
adapter (30) and the other end to the "+"
terminal (32) on the switch (28).
4. Install the other jumper wire (27) to the "H"
terminal (33) on the motor and the other end to the
"H" terminal (34) on the switch (28).
5. From the inside of the cab, hold the plastic case (22),
with the wiper motor (24) installed, up toward the
rear of the cab and install the cab harness
connectors.
6. Assemble the wire 153 (35), green w/yellow stripe,
from the harness to the adapter (30) on terminal "P"
on the wiper motor. Assemble the black ground wire
to a bolt on the right side of the motor. Tighten
securely.

7. Route the wire harness out the opening (29) on the
right side of the front cover (22). Assemble the rear
plastic cover (23) over the wiper motor and snap the
two plastic covers together.
8. Assemble the wiper motor (24) to the rear
window (16). Place the spacer (20) onto the wiper
motor shaft (10) and insert the wiper shaft with the
spacer through the larger hole in the rear window.
Place the rubber washer (19), metal washer (18),
onto the shaft and secure in place with the hex
nut (17). Tighten securely.
9. Secure right side of the wiper motor and plastic case
with a round head screw (11), two black nylon flat
washers (12), spacer (13) and acorn nut (14).
Tighten securely.
10. Connect the negative (-) battery cable (4) at the
battery negative (-) terminal on the battery in the
engine side battery box.
11. Connect the negative (-) battery equalizer cable (5)
at the bottom of the battery equalizer (6). Torque the
nut to a maximum of 100 lbs/in (11 Nm).
12. Replace engine side battery box cover (1). Use the
wing nuts (2) and carriage bolts (3) to secure the
cover in place.
