9. Use a pin spanner wrench to remove the guide (11)
from the end of the cylinder tube (2). Unthread the
guide from the cylinder tube. Carefully slide the
guide down the tube rod (3).
IMPORTANT: Protect the finish on the tube rod at all
times. Damage to the tube rod can cause premature seal
failure.
10. Carefully withdraw the tube rod assembly (3) with
guide (11) and piston (12) straight out of the cylinder
tube (2). Keep the tube rod assembly straight during
withdrawal to help avoid scratching, nicking or
damaging the cylinder tube.
IMPORTANT: When sliding the tube rod assembly in the
cylinder tube, DO NOT damage the piston end of the
tube rod assembly (3) by scraping it against the threads
in the cylinder tube. Keep the tube rod assembly in line
with the cylinder tube to prevent binding.

11. Remove the piston seal (13) and o-ring (14) from the
piston (12).
12. Remove the setscrew (15) from the piston (12). The
setscrew has Loctite 242 (blue) removable
threadlocker applied to it. Clean all residue from the
threads.
13. Remove the piston (12) from the end of the tube rod
(3).
14. Remove the guide (11) from the tube rod (3) by
carefully sliding the guide off the threaded end.
15. Remove the o-ring (16) and back-up ring (17) from
the guide (11).
16. Remove the AN series wiper ring (18) from the guide
(11).
17. Remove the poly seal (19) from inside the guide
(11).
