2. Remove engine side battery box cover (13). Remove
wing nuts (14) and carriage bolts (15) and set cover
and mounting hardware aside for later re-assembly.
3. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable (10) at the
negative (-) terminal on the battery in the engine side
battery box.
4. Disconnect the negative (-) cable (11) at the bottom
of the battery equalizer (12).
5. Remove the boot (7) from the joystick (8) by pulling
the boot off the base (9).
6. Remove the four button head capscrews (16) securing
the logic panel (17) to the side console. Carefully pry
the logic console upward. Label, then disconnect the
wiring harness leads at the logic panel. Remove the
logic panel from the vehicle.

7. Remove three flange-head capscrews (18) and
lockwashers (19) securing the joystick assembly (20)
to its mounting hole in the side console. Save the
three flange-head capscrews and lockwashers for
reuse later.

8. Reach through the logic panel opening (21) and
position the joystick wires (22). Raise the joystick
(23) enough to expose and allow access to the
hydraulic hose fittings connected to the joystick
control valve on the underside of the joystick.
Note: As required, remove tie wraps securing the joy-
stick hydraulic hoses together beneath the vehicle frame.
Removing the tie wraps will allow the hoses to be pulled
further out of the joystick opening in the console.

9. Use labels, tape or some type of permanent paint or
marker to mark the six hoses on the underside of the
joystick valve as shown in illustration below (Detail in
18
illustration shows ports viewed from bottom side of
joystick valve).

10. Remove and plug the hose ends to help prevent
excess hydraulic fluid spillage and to prevent
contaminants from entering the hydraulic system.

WARNING:
Hydraulic fluid leaking
under pressure can penetrate the skin, cause
infection, gangrene, and death or serious per-
sonal injury. If injured, see a doctor immedi-
ately.
Relieve all pressure before disconnecting any
component, part, line or hose. Slowly loosen
parts and allow release of residual pressure be-
fore removing any parts or component.
WARNING:
Wait for the hydraulic
fluid to cool before servicing any hydraulic
component. Hot hydraulic oil can cause severe
burns.
