Quidway S6500 Series Ethernet Switches
By default, VLAN description character string is VLAN ID of the VLAN, e.g. VLAN 0001.
VLAN interface description character text is the VLAN interface name, e.g. HUAWEI,
Quidway Series, Vlan-interface1 Interface.
1.2.4 Name the current VLAN
You can use the following command to name the current VLAN.
Perform the following configuration in VLAN view.

Name the current VLAN
Restore the default name of the current VLAN
By default, the name is the VLAN ID of the current VLAN, e.g. VLAN 0001.
Note that S3526/S3526F/S3526 FM/S3526 FS/S3026F/S3026 FM/S3026 FS do not
support the command.
1.2.5 Specify/Remove VLAN Interface
You can use the following command to specify/remove the VLAN interface. To
implement the network layer function on a VLAN interface, VLAN interface should be
set the IP address and mask. For corresponding configuration, refer to "Network
protocol" in this document.
Perform the following configurations in system view.
Table 1-6 Specify/Remove VLAN interface
Create a new VLAN interface and enter
VLAN interface view
Remove the specified VLAN interface
Create a VLAN first before create an interface for it.
1.2.6 Shut down/Enable VLAN Interface
You can use the following command to shut down/enable VLAN interface.
