6.3:D Head Face Cleaning

Procedure

Connect the power code to the outlet and turn ON the power switch
in the service mode. (See Chapter 6.5 Service Mode.)

Execute the head PRINT/CAP process in the maintenance
mode and set the head at the printing position.

1. Moisten the lint-free sponge (1-901800-00) with a small amount
of clear ink (1-901805-00).
2. Open the PHS unit and clean the ejection face where non-fire or
misaligmment is going with the lint-free sponge.

If the nozzle remains inactive even after the head cleaning (treat-
ment to normalize the nozzle injection), the head face should be
cleaned. The head face can be easily cleaned moving the head to the
printing position in the serviceman mode, without removing the
head. Head face cleaning procedure is shown below.
Caution:
Never wipe the head surface with dry lint-free sponge since it may damage the
head surface.
