4.2:E Head Shading
Procedure

Install the printer driver software into the customer's host compu-

ter.
After installing the printer driver, the "HS_DATA" folder is
created in the Windows folder, when Windows is used.
Copying the head shading data:

Copy the head shading data file into the "HS_DATA" folder in the
host computer from the HS data floppy disk packed with the
printer.

After completing the installation procedure, to copy the head
shading data to a host computer from the floppy disk packed
together with the printer, proceed as follows:
Caution
When delivered from the factory, the head shading data are created in well-
adjusted conditions, i.e. the positions of the nozzles are precisely adjusted
without non-fire or misalignment. The head shading should be carried out only
for the three colours of Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow.
When replacing the heads or adjusting the horizontal registration för Cyan,
magenta, and Yellow, prior to executing the head shading, remake a new data
for each colour, otherwize it can emphasise uneven shading.

Inspection/Remarks
See the "Installation and Operations" manual
packed with the printer. Install the printer driver
that corresponds to the operating system of the
host computer (Windows 3.1/95/98).
The head shading data file is named XXXXX.HS,
where XXXXX indicates the last five digits of
the printer's serial number.
