6.1 Preface

Check of Installation Environment
Check whether the service environment conforms to the following
standards.
a. The power source voltage shall be maintained at the rated
voltage ±10%.
b. The machine shall be kept horizontal.
c. The ambient temperature shall be maintained at 15°C to 30°C
and the humidity at 10% to 80%.
d. Places liable to incur high temperatures and high humidity (near
a water faucet, water heater, humidifier, etc.), places of ex-
tremely low temperature or near a fire source, and dusty places
shall be avoided.
e. The machine should not be exposed to dust.
f. Places where the machine is subjected to direct sunlight shall be
avoided. When such a place is unavoidable, ask the customer to
install a curtain, etc.
g. The place shall be well-ventilated.
Check of Paper
a. Is special paper for use on this machine being used?
b. Has the paper absorbed moisture?
Print and check with paper from a new package.
Check of Settings
Check whether the settings of the machine
agree with the paper to be used and other
conditions. Particularly check the following.
a. Settings of paper to be used
• Type of paper/size of paper (vertical/horizontal)
• Label intervals/marker width
b. Printing conditions
• Sheets to be printed
• Intervals/interval sheets
c. Interface setting
• Parallel, type setting
d. Saving of set conditions
• Are the settings properly saved?
Condensation
In the winter season, particularly when installing the machine, if it
is suddenly moved from a cold warehouse, etc. into a warm room,
condensation forms on various parts of the machine and may cause
all sorts of trouble.
