7.19 Packets and InfoFrames Registers

In HDMI, auxiliary data are carried across the digital link using a series of packets. The ADV7604
detects and stores automatically the following HDMI packets:
• InfoFrames
• Audio Content Protection (ACP)
• International Standard Recording Code (ISRC)
• Gamut Metadata
When the ADV7604 receives one of these packets, it computes the packet checksum and compares it
with the checksum available in the packet. If these checksums are the same, the packets are stored in
the corresponding registers. If the checksums are not the same, the packets are discarded. Refer to the
EIA/CEA-861D specifications for more information on the packets fields.

7.19.1 InfoFrames Registers

The ADV7604 can store the following InfoFrames:
• Auxiliary Video Information (AVI) InfoFrame
• Source Production Descriptor (SPD) InfoFrame
• Audio InfoFrame
• Moving Picture Expert Group (MPEG) Source InfoFrame
7.19.1.1 InfoFrame Collection Mode
The ADV7604 has two modes for storing the InfoFrame packet sent from the source into the internal
memory. By default, the ADV7604 automatically latches the InfoFrame packet received, based on
the checksum error bits for each InfoFrame.
The ADV7604 also provides a mode to store every InfoFrame sent from the source, regardless of the
InfoFrame packet checksum error.
