7.16.11.2 Audio Mute Signal
The ADV7604 can output an audio mute signal that can be used to control the muting in a back end
audio device processing the audio data output by the ADV7604 (e.g. DSP).

Important:
ADV7604 may interface with an audio processor (e.g. DSP) in which the muting of the audio is
implemented. In this case, the audio processor typically features a delay line followed by a mute
block for audio mute and unmuting purposes. The following hardware and software configuration is
recommended for optimum muting performance of the system ADV7604 and audio processor:
• Connect the mute signal of the ADV7604 to the audio processor mute input. The ADV7604
mute signal can now drives the muting/unmuting of the audio data inside the audio processor.
• Bypassed the audio delay line of the ADV7604 with the following settings:
Set MAN_AUDIO_DL_BYPASS
Set AUDIO_DELAY_LINE_BYPASS
Configure the ADV7604 to mute the audio over one audio sample clock as follows:
o Set AUDIO_MUTE_SPEED
