link down—Link is down and the protocol is not operationally up. This applies to
IPCP, IPv6CP, OSINLCP, and MPLS.
lower layer down—Lower protocol layer is down. This applies to an interface only.
max configure exceeded—Maximum number of configure requests was exceeded
while negotiations were in progress. This means that there was no response from
the peer, or the peer refused to negotiate. This applies to an interface, IPCP, IPv6CP,
OSINLCP, and MPLS.
peer requested termination—Remote peer requested termination of the connection,
which means that a terminate request was received while the session was in an
open state. This applies to an interface, IPCP, IPv6CP, OSINLCP, and MPLS.
