Unpack the circuit cards
Clean the connector portion of the
circuit cards

CHAPTER 2
Unpack each circuit card and remove it from its polyethylene
bag.
Wipe the connector portion clean using a soft cloth moistened
with pure trichlorethylene or methanol (medical alcohol).
Make sure that no lint or dust remains on the connector after
cleaning.
Verify the mounting position of each circuit card by referring to
the module face layout.
Verify that the color code of the card puller tab coincides with
that of the card mounting slot.
Verify the slot number on the module. Slot numbers are indicat-
ed at the top of each module, and range from 00 to 23.
Set the required switches according to the Circuit Card Descrip-
tion.

• PA-DAIU Card
Partially insert the circuit card into the module, making sure that
it is correctly aligned at the top and bottom. The card should ex-
tend about two inches from the module, and must not contact
the backplane connector (see the figure on the next page).
