2.3
Applied Setting
The procedure described in "Section 2.2 Setting Procedure" is for basic operation of the AutoConfig feature.
Additional steps are required when the following conditions are met:
When VLAN is used:
When the AutoConfig feature is used only for the first time:
When an operational DtermIP is moved to a new network segment:
When the configuration data of DtermIP is changed individually:
When the configuration setting on start-up is changed:
(1) When VLAN is used:
When using VLAN, note the following:
When different VLAN IDs are used in two or more segments, it is necessary to use the two scopes
(VLAN is disabled for one scope and VLAN is enabled for another) on a segment basis. Also, the
same FTP server address of DHCPOption and Config file name must be set to the two scopes.
DtermIP needs to be able to access the FTP server and the DHCP server even if VLAN is enabled
and disabled.
(2) When the AutoConfig feature is used only for the first time:
When the AutoConfig feature is used only for the first time, and from them on, FTP server is not accessed,
follow the procedure below.
STEP 1: Create the Config file sets AutoConfig Mode is disabled, by using Config Setup APL.
STEP 2: Set the FTP server address and Config file name to DHCPOption, and then connect the DtermIP to the
network.
STEP 3: DtermIP acquires OptionID from the DHCP server and downloads the Config file from the FTP server.
STEP 4: The Configuration data is saved and DtermIP is reset.
STEP 5: Although DtermIP acquires OptionID from the DHCP server after the reset, DtermIP does not access
the FTP server because AutoConfig Mode is disabled. DtermIP accesses the DRS and displays the
time in the usual way.
(3) When an operational DtermIP is moved to a new network segment:
When an operational DtermIP is moved to another segment, note the following.
AutoConfig Mode of DtermIP should be enabled.
When Config Mode of DtermIP is disabled and VLAN or Speed&Duplex is set, DtermIP may not
be able to access each server. At this time, it is necessary to initialize the DtermIP to the factory
default settings.
