– Remove V-ribbed belt
Note
Mark the direction of rotation with chalk or a felt-tip pen before
removing the V-ribbed belt. Reversing the rotation direction of an
already used belt may destroy it.
– Unscrew alternator ⇒ Electrical System ⇒ Rep. gr. 27 and
place it at the top right-hand side. The hoses remain connec‐
ted.
– Detach coolant hose -2- from connecting piece.
– Disconnect plug -1- at the coolant temperature sender at ra‐
diator outlet - G83- .
– Screw out screws -arrows- and remove connection fittings.
– Turn coolant regulator -1- approx. 90° (
-arrow- and remove from connecting piece.
– Remove O-ring -2-.
Installing
Installation occurs in reverse order to removal. Pay attention to
the following:

Renew O-ring.
– Clean sealing surface for O-ring or smoothen.
– Insert coolant regulator with new O-ring.
• Installation position:The bracket of the coolant regulator must
be positioned vertically.
– Moisten O-ring with coolant.
– Install the connecting piece on the cylinder block, tighten the
screws to 15 Nm and connect the hose from the radiator.
– Install alternator ⇒ Electrical System ⇒ Rep. gr. 27 .
– Carry out cohesive work when reconnecting the battery ⇒
Electrical System ⇒ Rep. gr. 27 .
