– Unplug connector of the glow plugs -arrows-.
– Remove the glow plugs using a flexible-head wrench e.g.
-3220- .
Installing
Installation occurs in reverse order to removal. Pay attention to
the following:
– Install glow plugs and tighten to 15 Nm.

with code BMM
Special tools and workshop equipment required
♦ Handheld multimeter - V.A.G 1526 B-
Test conditions
Ignition off.
Test sequence
– Unplug connector of the glow plugs.
– Connect handheld multimeter - V.A.G 1526 B- for resistance
measurement between contact and glow plug housing.
Specified resistance value: less than 1Ω
If the resistance value is exceeded (greater than 1 Ω), then the
glow plug is defective.
– Replace defective glow plug
– Check glow plugs in all cylinders one after the other.
– Reconnect removed connectors for glow plugs.
