1.7.2 Installing
Caution
• For any work requiring adjustment of the unit injector using
the adjusting screw, the adjusting screw in the valve lever
and the ball stud in the unit injector will need to be re‐
placed; otherwise these components will be significantly
worn.
• Fixing screws for unit injectors will also need to be re‐
placed.
Note
When installing, grease O-rings and pipes in cylinder head

New unit injectors are supplied with new O-rings.

If the old unit injectors are reinstalled, replace the O-rings

Grease the contact surfaces between the ball stud and the

adjusting screw using grease - G 000 100- .
– Before installing the unit injector, check the two O-rings for
correct position.
• The O-rings must not be twisted.
• The O-ring with the white marking is fitted in the lower groove
of the unit injector.
– Moisten the O-rings and valve stem of the unit injector with oil.

– Check that the seat of the unit injector in the cylinder head is
not contaminated by foreign bodies (chips, carbon deposits
etc.), and clean with compressed air if necessary.
– Carefully insert the unit injector into the cylinder head.
– Place the assembly device for valves - 2036- with retaining
plates - 2036/1- onto the bearing frame of the cylinder head
as shown.
Note
If the retaining plates - 2036/1- cannot be removed because of
the radiator for exhaust gas recirculation, use a large bodywork
construction system.
