– Release nuts -1- using the ratchet ring wrench - T10384- .
– Slacken nuts of clamping sleeve.
Note
For the following working steps a 2nd mechanic is required.

The decoupling element in the pre-exhaust pipe should not be
♦
bent by more than 10° - risk of damage.
– Push engine/gearbox assembly forwards and remove exhaust
pipe with diesel particulate filter downwards. Make sure that
the exhaust gas pressure sensor 1 - G450 - with connected
cables and electrical lines is not damaged.
Installing
Installation occurs in reverse order to removal. Pay attention to
the following:

Replace the clamp, sealing rings and self-locking nuts.

Secure all hose connections with corresponding hose clips.
♦
All cable straps which are detached when removing, should

be attached again in the same place when installing.
– Observe the assembly instruction for hose connections with
push-fit couplings ⇒ page 198
– Align exhaust system free of stress
– After replacing the diesel particle filter, an adaption must be
performed in the function "Targeted functions" ⇒ Vehicle di‐
agnostic tester.

Work procedure
♦ For separating the middle or rear silencer, a separation point
is provided in the connecting pipe, which is marked with a re‐
cess.
WARNING
To avoid injury from metal shavings, wear eye protection and
protective clothing.
