– Unscrew screws -2...4-.
– Unscrew nut -1- for tensioning pulley.
For vehicles up to 05.05, remove the tensioning pulley for
toothed belt.
– Unscrew screw -5- and remove Hall sender - G40- from cyl‐
inder head.
– Disconnect all remaining plug connections at cylinder head
and lay aside the electrical lines.
– Unscrew fixing screws of dipstick guide, pull guide upwards
and out of cylinder block and swivel forward to remove.
– Disconnect the hose from the vacuum reservoir, unscrew the
screw and remove the reservoir from the holder. Then remove
the holder.
– Separate all remaining coolant, charge air and vacuum hoses
from the cylinder head.
– Remove cylinder head cover
– Remove screws -1-, -3- and -5-.
– Undo screws -2- and -4- and alternately remove in several
stages.

Do not remove the screws from the valve lever shaft in order that
the individual parts remain attached to the valve lever shaft. Mark
the allocation of individual parts if necessary.
– Remove valve-lever shaft.
– Unscrew screws -6...10- for bearing frame.
