Filament Drive Load Time Test

Use this test to determine the condition of the filament drive motor
and filament path.
Procedure
1.
Unload material as necessary to clear the filament path for the filament drive to be tested.
2.
The canister must be loaded into the bay being tested and filament must be loaded into
the filament drive (filament drive LED slowly flashing) material status screen will read
"ready".
3.
Disconnect the proper filament guide tube at the head for the filament drive being tested.
4.
Measure the time it takes for the filament to be loaded to the head from the filament
drive.

Determine overall condition of filament drive and filament path from load time.
• Within 2 minutes: Good condition.
• Up to 2.5 minutes: Acceptable
• Over 2.5 minutes: Unacceptable. Repair as necessary. Clean the Y blocks,

Unload the material canister from the bay that was tested.
7.
Reconnect the filament tube(s) to the head.

Start timing - Initiate material load from the operator panel.
Stop timing - Abort the load by pressing the Escape key on the
operator panel. This should be done when the filament extends
approximately 1.5 inches (38 mm) from the end of the filament
guide tube at the head.
