Head Maintenance Position

Warning: Wear heat resistant gloves when handling the head
assembly. Head and tip temperatures can exceed 300° C. Serious
personal injury can occur if proper protective gear is not utilized.

Place Head in the Maintenance Position

Tools and Materials Required
• 9/64-inch hex key
• Safety gloves
Procedure
1.
Open the gantry door and cover to gain access to the head.
2.
Manually position the head directly behind the head maintenance bracket.
3.
Loosen the two head retaining screws (9/64-inch hex key).
(See Figure 5-5.)
4.
Lift the head and place it in the head maintenance bracket.
5.
Secure the head to head maintenance bracket by tightening the retaining screws.
