Platen Installation

Tools and Materials Required
• 11/16-inch open end wrench
• 5/32-inch hex key
• 1/8-inch hex key
Procedure
Caution: Handle the platen with care to avoid damage. Scratches on
the platen surface can cause system issues.
1.
Place the platen on the platen supports.
2.
Attach the vacuum tube to the vacuum elbow on the underside of the platen. Do not
tighten at this time.
3.
Install and tighten the three mounting screws with spring assemblies using a 1/8-inch
hex key.
4.
Tighten the vacuum tube fitting.
Caution: Use care when installing the tip sensor to make sure that
the wires are routed properly and will not interfere with moving
parts.
5.
Attach the tip sensor to the platen. Install and tighten the two mounting screws using a
5/32-inch hex key.
6.
Install the O-ring around the edge of the platen.

Install the vacuum screen. (See
