Verify that both X and Y servomotor drive pulleys are securely attached to the motor
shaft and that the locating key ways are in place.
Z stage travel to the lower hard stops can be an indication of a failed
Z motor encoder.
ERROR 4 – Z Limit Switch: The Z limit switch failed to close and
open when expected. If this message appears, the Z Zero of the
system could be relocated to the bottom of the Z stage travel.
You can disconnect the top hood and oven door locking solenoids, as
a possible internal short may be causing the output of the 24/48V DC
power supply to fluctuate.

AutoCal tip failed

Failed tip calibration
An improperly grounded system can produce calibration errors and
failures. With the power removed, verify that the nut securing the
ground within the high voltage bay is secure and that this line is
grounded at the service.
Perform Auto Z Zero prior to Auto Cal Tips.

When Auto Tip Cal is entered, the UI responds with: CANNOT AUTO CALIBRATE
(cone sensor selected in Maintenance menu):
• Check the Cone switch (cone sensor) input on MIO board for OPEN.

Cone Sensor Test: Select Modeler Status > System State > Sensor States > Cone Sensor.

If Auto Cal Tip is entered and calibration fails, press HELP on the UI for ERROR CODE.

Switch is normally closed, check sensor states menu.
Push on top of cone and verify state change on UI (one second
delay in reading).
Repeat a number of times to check for intermittent contact.
Intermittent contact can mean dirty contact plate. Remove the plate
- clean or flip the plate over to use opposite side.
ERROR 1 – Push Pin: This occurs if the Z stage reaches a value
less then Z= -0.020 anytime during calibration. Also may occur if
switch is tripped, but the Z value is negative or zero.
Possible causes:
• User forgot to put the cone back in the block.
• User forgot to install a tip.
