Z Stage Idler Pulley Removal

Tools and Materials Required
• 1/8-inch hex key
Procedure
An idler pulley and bearing assembly is replaced as a unit. A
damaged bearing requires the replacement of the complete pulley
assembly. Individual bearing replacement is not permitted. If one
idler pulley needs to be replaced, replace both idler pulleys.
The Z idler pulley bearings are sealed. Do not attempt to lubricate a
bearing. If lubrication of a bearing is necessary, replace the pulley
assembly.

Lower the Z stage to the bottom of its travel (Operator control > Move Head/Stage and
then select Move Z Stage to Bottom).

Power down the system. (See

Remove the Z stage drive belt. (See

Loosen the axle bolt of the pulley to be replaced (1/8-inch hex key) and remove the
pulley.
5.
Remove the axle bolt from the pulley.
