Tip Wipe Height Adjustment

An improperly adjusted tip wipe height can cause decreased tip life,
premature wear of the tip shield, and part quality issues.

Standard Tip Wipe Assembly

Tools and Materials Required
• 1/4-inch open end wrench
• 5/16-inch open end wrench
• 1/16-inch hex key
Procedure
1.
Lower the Z stage to the bottom half of the oven.
2.
Navigate to Maintenance > Administration > Service Password > Service Procedures >
Device Control and select Toggle Support Tip to lower the support tip.

Power down the system. (See

Open the oven door.
5.
Allow the oven to cool to room temperature. (The oven temperature must be at or near
ambient to perform this procedure.)
6.
Remove the upper waste chute funnel and purge ledge.
7.
The coarse adjustment should only be performed if the tip wipe support bracket was
removed or if there is not enough travel to complete the fine tip wipe height adjustment.
