Build Failures

Part build won't start

1.
System pauses at start of part build
Press the HELP button on the UI for possible error explanation.
Verify build footprint is not over a platen size limitation - it may be
necessary to turn User Placement 'Off'. Unload model and support
material, then restart system using UI commands. If unload fails
using UI unload, try manual unload using head button feature.

Auto Z Zero at part start fails after manual Z zero has been set with shim.

Verify that the upper Z stage hard stops are not contacting the end
plates of the Z stage during Auto Z Zero process.
Verify model tip does not have material that could interfere with
tip-to-build sheet contact.
Verify XY gantry and head energy chain are not binding.
If possible, determine if Auto Z Zero failures occur in a specific
quadrant of the platen using User Placement function of UI. Detach
the X heat shields from center bellows tray to inspect the tray-to-
oven clearance (front and back).
Oven temperature is under UI displayed setpoint.
The oven heating circuit is disabled when the oven door is opened.
The setpoint remains at the correct operating value.

Inspect thermocouple's wiring integrity for wear or kinks.
Make sure that its connection at the MIO board is secure. Also
verify the wiring is routed properly. For additional detail see
"Oven Thermocouple" on page
b.
Verify oven door is closed and correctly recognized by system.
c.
Check oven temperature with an external thermal probe:
(1).
If an external oven thermal probe reading is higher than
the UI reading:
• Replace thermocouple.
