Platen Removal

Tools and Materials Required
• 11/16-inch open end wrench
• 1/8-inch hex key
Procedure
Access the platen through the front door of the system.
1.
Position the Z stage to the mid-travel position.
2.
Power down the system. (See

Remove the vacuum screen. (See

Remove the vacuum O-ring from around the edge of the platen and save for reuse.
5.
Remove the vacuum tube fitting from the elbow on the underside of the platen (11/16-
inch open end wrench).

Remove the two tip sensor mount screws from the right underside of the platen (5/32-
inch hex key).
Caution: Use care not to damage the tip sensor when removing the

platen.

7.
Remove the vacuum table mount screws from the underside of the platen (1/8-inch hex
key).
The mount screws are part of a spring assembly. They are located at
the front left, front right, and back center of the platen.
8.
Lift the platen out of the system.
