Calibration and Adjustment

Linear Compensation

Tools and Materials Required
• Set of basic service tools
• Dial or digital caliper
Prerequisite Procedures
1.
Power up the system. (See
2.
Make sure the X and Y belt tensions are correct. (See
24.)
3.
Install T16 tip configuration for material being used.
4.
Material type can be any that the system is capable of using for normal modeling.
5.
Stabilize oven temperature for material being used for a minimum of 3 hours.
6.
Perform an XYZ Tip Offset Calibration (see
performing Linear Compensation.
Procedure
A T16 tip configuration for the material being used must be installed
to for this procedure.
If system is to be calibrated in metric mode, all dimensional values
will automatically be converted to millimeter (mm).

Build the linear compensation part.

Reset the PPU Values.
• Select
Maintenance > Administration > Field
Service (Password) > Machine Configuration >
Linear Compensation >
RstPPUs<E> (90XX,45XX).
• PPU values will be reset to defaults of 9000, 4500.
Build the appropriate PPU part.
• Select
Maintenance > Administration > Field
Service (Password) > Service Jobs to Build.
• Choose the appropriate PPU part for the material being used.
