Z Stage Drive Belt

Z Stage Drive Belt Removal

Tools and Materials Required
• 5/32-inch hex key
• 7/16-inch open end wrench
• 3/16-inch hex key
Procedure
1.
Lower the Z stage to the bottom of its travel (Operator control > Move Head/Stage and
then select Move Z Stage to Bottom).

Power down the system. (See

Remove the side panels. (See

Lower the Z stage until both Z stage and plates rest on the hard stops.
5.
Loosen, but do not remove, the four screws that secure the Z stage motor mount
adjusting plate (5/32-inch hex key). (See

Loosen the lock nut (7/16-inch open end wrench) to allow the adjusting screw to turn.
Turn the belt tension adjusting screw to reduce belt tension (3/16-inch hex key). Reduce
the tension until the belt can be removed.
7.
Remove the belt from the pulleys.
