Autohome XYZ

Autohome XYZ needs to be performed each time the system is powered on. The system will
not move any of the axis until the homing process has been completed. The Autohome XYZ
is responsible for finding the home position for each axis. The home position is a set location
the system references for all movements. During normal operation the system will
consistently home in the same location each time an Autohome XYZ is performed.
During the Autohome XYZ process the Z axis homes first. The Z axis uses a switch at the end
of travel to locate its home position. During the homing process the Z axis is lowered until it
actuates the Z home switch. The location at which the switch is actuated is then captured as
the Z home position. During the homing process the Z axis will not move to its beginning of
travel to prevent collisions in the event a part was left on the platen.
The X and Y axis are homed by driving to their beginning of travel hard stops. When the axis
reaches the beginning of travel hard stop the system recognizes that it has contacted the hard
stop and motion has stopped. The system then captures this position as home. After the
home position has been captured the X and Y axis will move to their end of travel positions.
Procedure
1.
From the Main Menu on the operator control panel select: Operator Control > Calibrate
> Autohome XYZ.
2.
Allow the system home. Homing will complete automatically.
