Loss of extrusion (LOE)

1.
Spaghetti head.
A spaghetti head results in an Air Model. The liquefier is damaged when at temperature
and not extruding. The liquefier must be replaced. A spaghetti head does not indicate a
filament delivery system problem (canister not jammed, canister motors are pushing
material, feed tubes and Y block are not blocked). A spaghetti head does not indicate a
low torque (weak) head motor. It takes a lot of force to buckle filament.
Model and support materials tend to fail in the same ways. Some
exceptions include: Only Model material is extruded on first layer
and base.
