Z Drive Motor Removal

Tools and Materials Required
• 5/32-inch hex key
• Wire cutters
Procedure
1.
Lower the Z stage to the bottom of travel. (Operator > Move Relative > Move Z Stage to
Bottom)
2.
Power down the system. (See

Remove the upper and lower right side panels and the middle and lower back panels.

Manually lower the Z stage to the lower hard stops.

Remove the Z drive belt. (See

Cut and remove the cable ties that secure the Z motor cables.
7.
Unplug the Z motor cables from the MIO board.
8.
The motor adjusting plate should be loose from removing the drive belt. From the
underside of the adjusting plate, remove the four motor mounting screws that secure the
Z stage motor to the adjusting plate (5/32-inch hex key). (See
