Purge Location/Setting Position

The system must be powered on and oven must be at room temperature to perform this
adjustment. When the system is on, opening the oven door will disable the oven heaters
and allow the system to cool.

Remove the upper waste chute funnel, purge ledge, and flicker/brush assemblies.
3.
Place the fine adjustment fixture (0.955) over the model-side flicker/brush assembly pins.
Caution: Use care when positioning the head. Make sure that the
model tip does not hit the fixture. If the model tip does not clear the
fixture, make sure that the oven temperature is at or near ambient. If
the oven temperature is at room temperature, adjust the tip wipe
height (refer to

Manually position the model tip so it is centered over the fine adjustment fixture.

From the Main Menu on the system go to: Maintenance > Administration > Field
Service Password:87651234 > Machine Setup > Set Purge Loc..

Record the Y value to the right of the Set Purge Loc: text. Subtract 0.750 from the Y value.
This will result in the desired new purge location.
Example: 1.479 - 0.750 = 0.729 this is the new purge location.
7.
Close the oven door and use keypad to move the head to the new purge location
calculated in step 6.

When the new purge location is reached select Set Purge Loc.. and press Enter.
9.
Press the Menu key one time to return to the Machine Setup menu. Select Save Machine
Setup Parameters.
10.
Remove the fine adjustment fixture from the tip wipe assembly.
11.
Install the Flicker/Brush assemblies, the purge ledge, and the upper waste chute funnel.

Allow for thermal stabilization. (See

Run a small test part. Verify the tips are being cleaned properly and that the purged
material is going into the waste chute.
