XY Gantry PPU/Scaling Calibration (alternate method)

There are two methods to perform this procedure. The following is an alternative method.
The preferred method is described in
Tools and Materials
• Scaling fixture kit (PN 107165-0001)
• Top door interlock bypass fixture (PN 107353-0001)
Procedure
Caution: Make sure that the outlined procedure is followed. Damage
to the dial indicator can occur if steps are performed incorrectly or
out of sequence.
1.
Make sure the X and Y belt tensions are correct. (See
page 10-36.)
2.
From the Field Service menu of the display panel, select Machine Setup. (Maintenance/
Administration/Field Service (Password)/Machine Set Up)
3.
Select Unlock Door.
4.
Open the top door and top hood.
5.
Remove two pulley cap screws.
6.
Set the X PPU.

Secure the fixture (use long screws supplied with fixture) to the Y
bridge (Figure 10-26).
Secure the dial indicator to the fixture in the X position.
Place the magnet extension fixture on the left side frame member.
Manually move the Y bridge with fixture assembly into a position
where the dial indicator rod is just short of touching the magnet
extension fixture.
