Y Bridge Installation

Tools and Materials Required
• Set of basic service tools.
• Squaring fixtures (2)
• Medium strength threadlocker
Procedure
1.
Place the Y bridge on the X-axis pillow blocks.
2.
Apply medium strength threadlocker to the 8 X-axis shouldered mounting screws.
3.
Attach the Y bridge to the back X-axis pillow blocks with 8 spring washers and 8
shoulder screws - do not tighten screws at this time.
4.
Apply medium strength threadlocker to the 8 X-axis mounting bolts.
5.
Attach the Y bridge to the front X-axis pillow blocks with 8 bolts - do not tighten bolts at
this time.
6.
Square the Y bridge.

Remove the front X-axis hard stop bolt.

Torque (16) retaining screws (8 with wavy washers and 8 with
socket heads).
• Torque the screws without the wavy washers first.
Carefully remove the squaring fixture.
