X and Y Pulley Installation
Tools and Materials Required
• Medium strength threadlocker
• 1/8-inch hex key
Procedure
There are two types of pulleys used in the system. (See
• The X and Y motor pulleys are part of the motor.
• Drive pulleys: a toothed pulley that engages the teeth of the belt
(10 total on XY table).
• Idler pulleys: a non-toothed pulley that engages the flat of the belt
(7 total on XY table).
Drive Pulley
1.
Insert the axle bolt through pulley assembly(s).
2.
Apply a small amount of medium strength threadlocker to the axle bolt threads.
Caution: Do not allow threadlocker to come in contact with the
bearing of pulley.
3.
Attach the pulley to the XY gantry and then tighten the axle bolt.
4.
Spin the pulley by hand to make sure that it rotates freely.
5.
Repeat step 1.
6.
Verify proper routing of the belts and reattach the removed belt tensioners to the mount
blocks. (See "X and Y Belt Installation" on page
