4.1.7 Servo stop

Servo stopping are of 3 different methods: Servo braking method, free stopping method,
dynamic braking method.
Stopping method
Servo braking Servo driver delivers braking torque in
opposite direction
Free stopping Motor power cut off. Free to move until
velocity = 0. Affected inertia, friction and
other factors
Dynamic braking Brake activated when in motion
Stopping status
Free running
Dynamic braking
Holding brake stopping
Description
Motor is powered off, rotor is free to rotate
Motor is powered off, rotor is not free to rotate
Motor axis is locked, cannot rotate freely
