Chapter 5 Special Effects Operations
This blurs the motion of a moving video by creating afterimages.
In the FREEZE & RECUR menu, press F2 (MOTION DECAY) to
display the MOTION DECAY menu.

MOTION DECAY menu soft key indications
The following are some of the operations carried out in this menu.
Blurring motion – F1 (RECUR) and F2 (MIX MODE)
Use the following procedure.

Press F1 (RECUR), turning it on.

Press F2 (MIX MODE) and select "Hard" or "Soft".
If you select "Hard", the brighter of the video and afterimage
remains, whereas if you select "Soft", the video and
afterimage are mixed.

Set the "Decay" parameters.
• Left knob ("Vid"): degree of blurring of video signal (0 to
100%)
• Center knob ("Key"): degree of blurring of key signal (0 to
100%)
• Right knob ("Dust"): degree of leaving stardust trails of
afterimage (0 to 100%)
Defocusing the afterimage part – F3 (DEFOCUS)
Use the following procedure.

Press F3 (DEFOCUS), turning it on.

Adjust the "DEFOCUS" parameters as follows.
• Left knob ("Vid"): degree of defocusing of video signal (0 to
100%)
• Center knob ("Key"): degree of defocusing of key signal (0
to 100%)
