Preventing the peripheral black level leakage when the
defocusing effect is applied – F2 (MACH CANCEL
VIDEO)
You can eliminate the black level leakage (Mach effect) which
occurs at the edge of the screen when using the defocusing effect.
Use the following procedure.
1
Set the "DEFOCUS Video" parameters to 0.
• Set the right knob ("All"), or both the left ("H") and center
("V") knobs to 0.

Press F2 (MACH CANCEL VIDEO), turning it on.

Adjust the "Mach cancel" parameters, setting values such that
the edge of the screen is slightly cropped.

Set the "DEFOCUS" parameters.
For the parameter settings, see step 2 in the previous section
"Applying a blurring akin to camera shake".
Note
Even with F2 (MACH CANCEL VIDEO) set to "ON", depending
on the "DEFOCUS" parameter settings, the Mach effect may in
some cases remain.

Left ("Left"): crop position on left edge of
screen
Right ("Right"): crop position on right edge
of screen
Left ("Top"): crop position on top edge of
screen
Right ("Bottom"): crop position on bottom
edge of screen
