Chapter 5 Special Effects Operations
Applying a wipe mask to the defocusing effect (for video
only) – F7 (DEFOCUS MASK)
Use the following procedure.

Press F7 (DEFOCUS MASK), turning it on.

Press F8 (MASK) to display the MASK menu, and set the
mask parameters.
For details, see the section "MASK Settings" (page 5-85).
This function applies a soft outline blurring.
• To apply blurring independently to both video and key requires
the BKDM-7060 option.
• To carry out a blurring mask requires the BKDM-3040 option. If
using a BKDM-3040 with serial number in the range 10001 to
10270, it requires an upgrade. (Consult your Sony service
representative for details.)
In the PICTURE MODIFY menu, press F3 (BLUR) to display the
BLUR menu.
