Channel Selection

Selecting the active channels and reference channel
7-6
Chapter 7 Key Frame Effects
The creation and editing of key frames and execution of effects
takes place on the selected channel or channels, which are known
as the active channels.
If more than one channel is selected, you must select one of them
to be the reference channel, to be the basis for operations and
menu displays. If you select a single channel, that channel
automatically becomes the reference channel.
For example, the NEXT KF button has the effect of moving
forward in time to the next key frame, but the key frames on the
active channels do not necessarily come at the same time points.
In such a case, the NEXT KF button moves forward to the next
key frame on the reference channel, ignoring the key frames on the
other active channels; the other active channels move forward to
the corresponding time point.
Use any of the following operations.
• Press a button in the channel selection section of the control
panel.
• Click on a channel indication in the active window channel
display.
The button for the last selected channel lights green, and the
channel indication also appears in green, showing that this is the
reference channel.
To make more than one channel active, follow the procedure
described on pages 2-11 and 4-13.
