POSTER & NEGA (Negative) Settings – 41

Chapter 5 Special Effects Operations
Posterization reduces the number of quantization levels in the
luminance signal and solarization reduces the number of
quantization levels in the chrominance signal. The "NEGA"
function which produces a negative signal may be applied to
luminance and chrominance signals independently.
In the VIDEO MODIFY menu, press F1 (POSTER & NEGA) to
display the POSTER & NEGA menu.

The following are some of the operations carried out in this menu.
Applying posterization – F1 (POSTER)
Use the following procedure.
1
Press F1 (POSTER), turning it on.
2
Turn the left knob ("Post") to adjust the degree of coarsening
of luminance signal (0 to 100%).
Applying solarization – F2 (SOLAR)
Use the following procedure.
1
Press F2 (SOLAR), turning it on.
F2 (SOLAR) and F1 (POSTER) may both be on
simultaneously.
2
Turn the left knob ("Sola") to adjust the degree of coarsening
of chrominance signal (0 to 100%).
