vrrp vrid priority

Syntax
vrrp vrid virtual-router-id priority priority
undo vrrp vrid virtual-router-id priority
View
VLAN interface view
Parameters
virtual-router-id: VRRP group ID, ranging from 1 to 255.
priority: Switch priority to be set. This argument ranges from 1 to 254.
Description
Use the vrrp vrid priority command to set the priority of a switch in a VRRP group.
Use the undo vrrp vrid priority command to restore the default priority.
By default, the priority of a switch in a VRRP group is 100.
Switch priority determines the possibility for the switch to become a master. A switch with higher priority
is more likely to become a master. Switch priority ranges from 0 to 255 (a larger number indicates a
higher switch priority) and defaults to 100. Note that only 1 through 254 are available to users. Switch
priority 0 and 255 are reserved for special uses and IP address owner respectively. If a switch is an IP
address owner, its priority is always 255 and not configurable. So if an IP address owner exists in a
VRRP group, the switch (the IP address owner) is the master of the VRRP group as along as it can work
properly.
Examples
# Set the priority to 120 on VLAN-interface 2 for the switch in the VRRP group.
