6.14 External File Operation Menus
Abnormal operation
This information describes the details of error messages displayed on the "NC->EXT." screen and the corrective action
thereof.
Error message
Write data has not been selected.
It is not possible to add more programs
than this to the current project. Delete
any unnecessary programs and try
again.
The project cannot be read out: the
project with labels created with GX De-
veloper was attempted to be read out
while "operation mode" on the PLC on-
board is set to GX Works2.
The project is created as "project with
labels" or "structured project", howev-
er, the symbolic information is not
stored. If the project is edited, it may
lead to loss of the consistency with the
symbolic information.
6.14.4.7 Closing the "NC" -> "EXT." Screen
Use any of the following methods to close the "NC->EXT." screen.
Methods to close the screen
Press the [CLOSE] menu key.
Press the left arrow key.
Press the [ESC] key on the software keyboard.

Error details
This is displayed when you press the
[EXECUTE] menu key without selecting
any PLC data from the list.
This is displayed when the total number
of the selected programs and PLC mes-
sages exceeds the upper limit of 124.
This message is displayed when execut-
ing "NC -> EXT." to a project with labels
created with GX Developer when opera-
tion mode of PLC on-board is GX
Works2.
This message is displayed when execut-
ing "NC -> EXT." to a project with labels
or a structured project while symbolic in-
formation is not stored in CNC when op-
eration mode of PLC on-board is GX
Works2.

Remedy
Select PLC data from the list before
pressing the [EXECUTE] menu key.
Select the programs and PLC messag-
es so that the total number of them is
124 or less before pressing the [EXE-
CUTE] menu key.
Change the operation mode of a project
to GX Developer, then restart PLC on-
board.
For setting method of operation mode
refer to "6.1.3 Operation Mode of Proj-
ect".
Saved as GX Works2 project without la-
bels. Store symbolic information to
save as the original project type.
