5.8 PLC Message Development

5.8 PLC Message Development
This section describes how to develop PLC messages such as alarm messages, operator messages, and PLC switches as
PLC-related data.
Refer to "PLC Programming Manual" on how to display a PLC message on HMI screen.
PLC messages can only be created using ladder diagram. It cannot be created in ST language. To use PLC messages in the
sequence program created in ST language, it must be written by using some text editor. Otherwise, use a PLC message
created in ladder diagram.
For the user safety sequence, PLC message function cannot be used.

5.8.1 Adding PLC Messages

There are two ways to add PLC messages as shown below.

PLC messages are written directly to built-in ROM when GX Works2 is used. Writing to ROM is not required.
Note
(1) PLC messages are written as different types of files by either way described above. When a PLC message is in both files,
the one written on the standard screen is used first.
