6 Explanation of Built-in Editing Function (PLC On-board)
6.13 NC File Operation Menus
Abnormal operation
This information describes the details of error messages displayed on the opened screen and the corrective action thereof.
Error message
Read data has not been selected.
The project is created as "project with la-
bels" or "structured project", however, the
symbolic information is not stored. If the
project is edited, it may lead to loss of the
consistency with the symbolic information.
Symbolic information and program file do
not match, or symbolic information and PLC
parameters were not read out at the same
time. The project can not be read out: the
project is in an uncompiled status.
The project cannot be read out: the project
with labels created with GX Works2 was at-
tempted to be read out while "operation
mode" on the PLC on-board is set to GX De-
veloper.
The project cannot be read out: the struc-
tured project created with GX Works2 was
attempted to be read out while "operation
mode" on the PLC on-board is set to GX De-
veloper.
The project cannot be read out: the project
with labels created with GX Developer was
attempted to be read out while "operation
mode" on the PLC on-board is set to GX
Works2.
Reading out a project with labels created
with GX Developer. This project is not sup-
ported, it will be read out as a project without
labels.
Failed to read out the data because the data
have been made with a product newer than
this version. This will read out the default
parameter.

6.13.3.7 Closing the Opened Screen

Use any of the following methods to close the opened screen.
Methods to close the screen
Press the [CLOSE] menu key.
Press the left arrow key.
Press the [ESC] key on the software keyboard.

Error details
This is displayed when the [OPEN] menu key is
pressed before any PLC data has been selected
from the displayed list.
This message is displayed when opening a proj-
ect with labels or a structured project while sym-
bolic information is not stored in CNC.
This message is displayed in the following cas-
es.
 Symbolic information of a project with labels
stored in CNC differ from the program file.
 When executing "Open" with [Symbolic Infor-
mation] checked and [Parameter] - [PC/Net-
work] unchecked.
This message is displayed when executing
"Open" to a project with labels created with GX
Works2 when operation mode of PLC on-board
is GX Developer.
This message is displayed when executing
"Open" to a structured project created with GX
Works2 when operation mode of PLC on-board
is GX Developer.
This message is displayed when executing
"Open" to a project with labels created with GX
Developer when operation mode of PLC on-
board is GX Works2.
This message is displayed when reading a proj-
ect with labels created with GX Developer.
This message is displayed when the PLC on-
board detects an unsupported parameter.

Remedy
Select PLC data from the displayed list before
pressing the [OPEN] menu key.
This does not effect operation of PLC on-board.
(Operates as a project without labels.)
Note that when editing with PLC on-board, sym-
bolic information created of a project with labels
or a structured project may differ.
Check and store only program files that match
symbolic information.
Store the PC parameters of projects with sym-
bolic information in CNC, then execute "Open"
with [Symbolic Information] and [Parameter] -
[PC/Network] checked in the list.
Change the operation mode of a project to GX
Works2, then restart PLC on-board.
For setting method of operation mode refer to
"6.1.3 Operation Mode of Project".
Change the operation mode of a project to GX
Works2, then restart PLC on-board.
For setting method of operation mode refer to
"6.1.3 Operation Mode of Project".
Change the operation mode of a project to GX
Developer, then restart PLC on-board.
For setting method of operation mode refer to

Note that when editing with PLC on-board, sym-
bolic information of a project with labels may dif-
fer.
The error may be avoided by following the steps
below.
(1) Restore the parameters to the default values
in GX Works2, and reset only the necessary
parameters.
(2) Store the parameters in the CNC again.
