6 Explanation of Built-in Editing Function (PLC On-board)
6.12 Main Screen
(4) The error message is displayed if the following operations are executed and PLC data is read with PLC on-board when a
project with labels or a structured project is stored.
 After writing a project without labels or a structured project with GX Works2 to CNC, start another GX Works2 with set-
ting of a project without labels and switch the program files.
 When writing a project with labels or a structured project with GX Works2 to CNC, PC parameter is not written.
When this message is displayed, confirm the combination of stored symbolic information and program file or store the PC
parameters of the stored project to CNC, then read again.
Symbolic information and program file do not match, or symbolic information and PLC parameters were not read out at the same
time.
The project can not be read out: the project is in an uncompiled status.
(5) The following message is displayed when a project stored in CNC is not supported by operation mode (refer to " Opera-
tion mode and readable project").
The project cannot be read out: the project with labels created with GX Works2 was attempted to be read out while "operation
mode" on the PLC on-board is set to GX Developer.
Execute on of the following when this message is displayed.
 Change a project stored in CNC to be supported by PLC on-board operation mode using GX Developer or GX Works2.
 Change PLC on-board operation mode. (Refer to " Operation mode settings")
 Execute CNC format with PLC on-board. (Refer to "6.13.8 Format Popup Screen")
(6) An error may occur when CNC language parameters do not match those of a project stored in CNC. (Refer to "6.5.3 Pre-
cautions for Language Setting for GX Works2 Project") When the following message is displayed, set the CNC language
parameters to a project language, and read again.
Failed to read out: language settings do not match.
Go to the GX Works2 Setting screen, and set the project language to be the same as that used to create the ladder.
(7) Even when a structured project is stored in the target project, if all the program blocks that can be displayed on ladder
screen are locked with block passwords, the following message is displayed without transiting to the ladder screen. When
this message is displayed, clear the block password on POU LIST screen. (Refer to "6.13.14.9 Block Password Disable")
All the program blocks that can be displayed in the ladder screen are locked with the block password.
Please unlock the block password.
(8) Even when a project with labels or a structured project is stored in the target project, if no program is created in a lan-
guage that can be displayed on ladder screen, the following message is displayed without transiting to the ladder screen.
When this message is displayed, create a program created in a language that can be displayed on ladder screen in a
project.
Refer to "6.1.4 Language" for the program language that can be displayed on ladder screen.
There is no program created with the programming language that is supported by the ladder screen.
(9) When the PLC on-board detects an unsupported parameter, the circuit screen is not displayed after automatic reading
and the following message is displayed.
Failed to read out the data because the data have been made with a product newer than this version.
This will read out the default parameter.
In this case, the error may be avoided by following the steps below.
(a) Restore the parameters to the default values in GX Works2, and reset only the necessary parameters.
(b) Store the parameters in the CNC again.
[User safety sequence 2]
The following message is displayed when parameters are written in user safety sequence 2. Select "Yes" and continue
reading.
The device points set in the parameter do not match the device points in NC.
