6.6 PLC Data
Clearing file passwords
As illustrated in the following table, the screen used to cancel passwords is displayed in accordance with the proper matching
of operations performed and file attributes marked with "Yes" in the [Attribute criteria].
Data protection mechanisms can be temporarily cleared by entering the password on the screen.
Operations
NC File Operation ->

Edit ladder -> Perform edits -> Change
Refer to "6.21 Canceling File Passwords" for information on clearing file passwords.
Valid period of file password clears
File passwords are cleared until the following operation is executed.
 Returning to the password not entered state (Refer to " Locking the password for all data")
 Starting PLC on-board again
 Changing the connection project
Passwords do not need to be entered again when reading PLC data again or overwriting PLC data for which passwords have
been cleared.
Passwords must be entered again and cleared when passwords for PLC data are changed in GX Developer/GX Works2.
Precautions for file password setting
If you forget or rewrite the password, refer to "5.12 File Password Function".
File password of project with labels and structured project
When using a project with labels or a structured project, some PLC data such as sequence program is read/written in a file,
symbolic information. Even when there is one file with uncanceled password in symbolic information, operation according to
the set file password is limited.
