In both cases the same DR method (DR-connect) is used in order to reconnect the XSBs of
the repaired or replaced system boards and thus restore the original status.
It may be necessary to put the XSBs from the other partitions back into operation.
Cross-partition DR concept
The DR applications described the general recommendation applies that the DR concepts
for the individual partitions of a system must be harmonized with each other:
– A cross-partition strategy for dynamic resource management must be devised in accor-
dance with the customer's requirements.
– For online maintenance, dependencies arising from the parallel operation of multiple
partitions must also be taken into account when a cross-partition strategy is defined.
