Service Types

"Service Type" is the attribute field in the "RADIUS Access Request and RADIUS Access
Response" message as defined in RFC 2865. This attribute indicates the type of service the user
has requested, or the type of service to be provided.
CDM-570A/570AL RADIUS client recognizes the following value fields, as assigned to the service
type attribute in RADIUS: Access-Accept messages received from the RADIUS server, and sets
access levels accordingly:
Value
6
Administrative
7
NAS Prompt
11
Callback Administrative
Some RADIUS Servers might need to be reconfigured with the above service
type values for corresponding user access levels.

RADIUS Client

Figure I-1 shows the typical RADIUS connectivity with the CDM-570A/570AL Satellite Modem.
Remote monitor and control of the CDM-570A/570AL Satellite Modem is accomplished with the
User PC. The Modem connects to the RADIUS Server for user credential authentication.
The authentication process, as shown here, permits use of the HTTP (Web Server) Interface for
remote M&C of the CDM-570A/570AL. This basic messaging sequence is the same for M&C
access to the CDM-570A/570AL over the Telnet user interface:
