FEC type (Highest) ► Modulation type ► Code Rate ► Data Rate (Lowest)
When you change a parameter within this hierarchy, the other parameters
may become invalid. In this case, the firmware changes those other
parameters to ensure that the configuration remains valid at all times.
Example: Suppose you select Viterbi + Reed-Solomon, QPSK, Rate 1/2.
Then, you change the modulation type from QPSK to 16-QAM. In this case,
Rate 1/2 is no longer a valid code rate, and so it automatically changes to
the nearest valid code rate (Rate 3/4).

(CONFIG: Tx) FEC (FEC Encoder Type)

TxFEC: Vit Vit-RS TCM-RS
TPC VF ULL VF2L VF2S Unc
With VersaFEC ACM (IP-ACM) mode selected:
Tx FEC: Fixed VFEC (ACM)
With VersaFEC-2 ACM (V2-ACM) mode selected, only VF2L or VF2S can be selected:
TxFEC: Vit Vit-RS TCM-RS
TPC VF Ull VF2L VF2S Unc
IMPORTANT NOTE – All selections are always viewable. If a Hardware or FAST
option is either uninstalled or invalid, the cursor will skip past the unavailable
choice.
The VFEC (VersaFEC), ULL (Ultra Low Latency), VF2L (VersaFEC-2 Long Block),
and VF2S (VersaFEC-2 Short Block) Tx FEC types and their available Tx
Modulation Types, Codes, and Data Rates are UNAVAILABLE when operating in
CDM-570 Compatible Mode. If the Tx FEC Type is VFEC, ULL, VF2L, or VF2S when
CDM-570 Compatible Mode is selected, then the Tx FEC Type will be reset to
Viterbi and the Modulation and Code Rate will also be reset to appropriate values.
See Section 6.2 for further information.
